1. New Raspberry Pi OS Release
   A new update for Raspberry Pi OS brings several usability and security improvements:

   • Improved screen locking using a modified version of swaylock, giving better user feedback when the screen is locked. Raspberry Pi

   • Auto-login options for the console (command-line) and the desktop session have been separated, to close a potential security bypass. Raspberry Pi

   • A new standalone Printers application for easier printer setup & management. Raspberry Pi

   • Better touchscreen handling: users can now choose between “native touch” mode (with gestures etc.) or “mouse emulation” mode. Raspberry Pi

2. Smaller 5-inch Touch Display 2 Launched
   Raspberry Pi has released a more compact version of its Touch Display 2. It’s 5-inch (down from 7-inch), keeps the same resolution (720×1280), supports true multi-touch (five-finger), and is priced lower (about US$40). Ideal for projects where space or budget are constrained. Tom's Hardware

3. Exhibition in India: Electronica India 2025
   Raspberry Pi will be exhibiting at Electronica India 2025 (in Bangalore, September). They’ll show off the full lineup including single board computers (up to Raspberry Pi 500), the Pico family, RP2350-based products, cameras, and industrial/AI/IoT solutions. 4. A recent academic project shows using Raspberry Pi 5 with a quantized version of YOLOv4-Tiny for aerial emergency object detection. It achieves fast inference (~28 ms per image) while being energy efficient, showing how capable compact systems are for urgent, real-world applications.
